Industry executives to discuss opportunities in the global FPD industry at SEMI Global FPD Partners Conference

Conference runs from April 11-14, 2007 in Nagasaki, Japan-Registration now Available

"Building Partnerships and Expanding Possibilities in the Global FPD Industry" will be the theme of the 2007 SEMI Global Flat Panel Display Partners Conference (GFPC), to be held April 11-14, 2007 at Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan. Attended by company CEOs, presidents and senior-level executives, the GFPC is the world's largest flat panel display (FPD) gathering of its kind, and providing valuable networking opportunities for information exchange and cooperation among executives within the FPD industry.

Keynotes
The GFPC will also include an impressive line-up of keynote addresses from global executives, focusing on a range of topics including:

This session will address issues surrounding development of new display technologies and expansion within the display business. Panelists include: Stuart Evans, CEO, Plastic Logic; Bob Pinnel, CTO, USDC; Asad Khan, vice president of Technology, Kent Displays, Inc.; Hideaki Kawai, senior managing director, Electronics Division, Toppan Printing; Minoru Usui, director and general administrative manager of Production Engineering and Development, Seiko Epson.

"The Next Generation of Production Lines for Large Screen LCDs" Moderated by Hiroaki Kitahara, representative, Technology and Business

This session looks ahead to the next generation of production lines for large screen LCD televisions, focusing on the panel makers who are currently leading the way in the development of larger screens. Panelists include: Kozo Yano, group. general manager., LCD Production Technology Development Group, Sharp; Won-Kie Chang, CEO, S-LCD; Masasuke Matsudai, director and general manger, Flat-Panel Display Equipment Division I, ULVAC; and In Doo Kang, general manager, AKT.

Grand Final Panel "Flat-Panel TV" Moderated by Koichi Nishioka, columnist and editorial writer, Nihon Keizai Shimbun

This panel discusses the outlook for the FPD industry and the role that flat screen televisions will play in further business expansion. Focusing on top makers, the panel covers both technical and business issues. Panelists include: Takashi Fukuda, Deputy President, TV & Video Business Group, Sony; Mikio Katayama, corporate senior executive director, Sharp, Samsung Electronics(TBA); Bruce Berkoff, chairman, LCD-TV Association; Phillips(TBA); and TCL(TBA).

Break-out Panels
"FPD Industry's Future" Moderated by Hideki Wakabayashi, president, Finnowave Investments

This panel will look at the growth of FPD industry over the past few years, and will examine the outcome of the FPD industry over the long term and the impact of the transition to digital TVs will have on the industry after 2010. Panelists include: Deutsche Securities; Mizuho Securities; and FPD Manufacturer (TBA)

"What's on the Horizon for Ultra-Mobile PCs in the Coming Age of Ubiquitous Computing?" Moderated by Hiroshi Asakura, editor in chief , Nikkei Business Publications

In this panel discussion, panelists will look at the building of global networks, as well as software and hardware, including the evolution of displays. Panelists include: Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology; Intel; and Sony.

"Mobile" Moderated by Shinji Terada, vice president, Management Strategy Department/vice president, Technology Department, Index

In this panel discussion, leading executives look at the future development of mobile devices and the shape of displays, covering key infrastructure and content-provision themes, as well as expectations for user interfaces and next-generation multimedia services. Panelists include: Sharp(TBA); NTT Docomo(TBA); Qualcomm (TBA)

Executive Roundtable
The executive roundtable will consist of group table discussions, which will feature open, frank and friendly discussions and dialogues on one of three subjects including outlook for the FPD Industry, new application, mobile, and next larger generation. Roundtable participants include all attendees joined by all the available speakers, moderators and panelists.
