China market - Lenovo still biggest notebook vendor in 4Q06

Lenovo accounted for 35.1% of the 1.384 million notebooks shipped in the China market during the fourth quarter of 2006 and is maintaining its lead as the largest vendor, according to China-based consulting company Analysys International. In the fourth quarter of 2006, 993,000 business-use notebooks and 391,000 consumer notebooks were shipped in China, Analysys indicated. The average shipment value per notebook dropped from 8,577 yuan (US$1,070) in the second quarter of 2006 to 8,173 yuan in the third quarter with a slight rebound to 8,194 yuan in the fourth quarter.
