Premier ships 12 million digital cameras this year, says paper

Premier Image Technology will have shipped 12 million digital cameras (DSCs) by the end of this year, surpassing Sanyo to become the world's largest digital camera maker, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN).

Premier, which has been merged into Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn), is expected to help the world's number-one EMS player generate NT$100 billion (US$3.1 billion) from optical products, including digital cameras, handset camera modules, displays, and projectors next year, the paper said.
