Electrovert VectraES(TM) wave soldering system offers wide range of lead-free capability

Dec 22, 2006

Speedline Technologies will display its new Electrovert VectraES(TM) wave soldering system at APEX Los Angeles, booth 1853.  As with all Electrovert systems, the VectraES provides lead-free capability and focuses on optimizing price/performance.

This value leader brings innovation and unparalleled process flexibility to the three main sub-systems of a wave soldering machine; the fluxer, preheat and solder module.  The new ServoSpray(TM), servo-controlled reciprocating spray fluxer features an air atomized spray head, pressurized tank flux supply system, self-cleaning nozzle and the ability to spray in one or both directions with recipe control.  Collectively, these unique features enable the ServoSpray to deliver excellent hole penetration and spray uniformity with a wide range of fluxes.

The VectraES also features Electrovert's latest preheat technology, Low Mass Forced Convection.  This easily maintained, one-piece module provides exceptional thermal performance minimizing cross-board, as well as top-to-bottom product temperature differentials making it ideal for both through-hole and surface mount assemblies.

As with spray fluxing and preheat, the VectraES provides the latest in solder nozzle innovation with Electrovert's exclusive UltraFill(TM) system.  The UltraFill nozzle enables users to overcome a variety of process challenges inherent in lead-free wave soldering.  40% wider than traditional tin/lead nozzles, the UltraFill provides increased contact and dwell time.  When used in a dual wave application, the distance between the chip and main wave is significantly reduced, minimizing temperature drop between the waves.  For additional flexibility, a shroud enables the UltraFill nozzle to be run in either air or nitrogen configurations per the selected recipe.  Ensuring optimized lead-free assembly, UltraFill nozzle technology provides improved hole fill, reduced bridging, and up to a 40% reduction in dross generation.

The VectraES's exclusive subsystem capability and flexibility offers process yield improvements, increased throughput and a reduction in cost of ownership.  In addition, the VectraES provides reduced flux usage and dross generation, competitive pricing, and the environmental benefits of lead-free process capability.  Manufactured at Speedline's North American facilities, the Electrovert VectraES sets the industry standard for value leadership in today's highly competitive marketplace.
