The pinnacle of events marking IPC's 50th Anniversary celebration will be a nostalgic 50th Anniversary reception and dinner on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, in conjunction with IPC's February tradeshows in Los Angeles, California. The 50th anniversary committee of IPC has planned a fun and memorable evening that begins with a reception at 6:15 pm and, following dinner, remarks and presentations by a number of long-time IPC and industry leaders. Speakers include Bob Swiggett, one of the original founders of IPC in 1957; Ray Pritchard, long-time Executive Director; former IPC Board Presidents Herb Pollack, Marv Larson, Bill Miller and Bonnie Fena, and other IPC notables. The speakers will share anecdotes from the serious to the amusing, highlighting the range of IPC's activities over the past five decades, including the founding of the EMS industry, globalization, tradeshows and public policy. Additionally, anniversary dinner guests will receive a complimentary copy of the new book "From Vacuum Tubes to Nanotubes: An Amazing Half Century. The Emergence of Electronic Circuit Technology 1957-2007", a book commissioned by IPC that summarizes the past 50 years of the electronic interconnection industry, from the birth of the printed wiring board industry to today's advanced technology. The book will be unveiled at the show. For information on the IPC 50th Anniversary Reception and Dinner, visit www.GoIPCShows.org/50th.
