Dec 15, 2006
IPC announces the launch of IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition, September 23-28, 2007, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, Schaumburg, Ill. An exhibition targeted specifically for the electronics manufacturing industry will be begin at 10 am on Wednesday, September 26 and run through 2 pm on Friday, September 28.The technical program will offer workshops and tutorials, a 2-day conference, and standards development committee meetings. At the request of the Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA), and with support of the IPC PCB Suppliers Council, the IPC Board of Directors unanimously approved the development of this new event. "We're excited to offer this regional exhibition and conference to the industry," said IPC Board member, Pierre de Villeméjane, president & CEO, Speedline Technologies, Inc. "When our members come to us and ask for help to meet their regional exhibition needs, as well as that of their customers and suppliers, it is rewarding to be able to make it happen and create a fair, focused and cost-effective event." Denny McGuirk, IPC president agrees, "Our industry demands an exhibition in the Midwest with primary focus on electronics manufacturing; not an exhibition viewed as an afterthought. It seems fitting that on the 50th anniversary of IPC, the industry is once again calling on IPC to take action. With the Board's directive, we have begun development of this event that will meet member needs, support future industry initiatives and be part of the success of electronics manufacturing - an event that's Industry Smart!" IPCWorks(R), an annual fall IPC event encompassing industry standards development committee meetings and a technical program, will become part of IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition. Information on the new event will be available in early 2007. For information on exhibiting or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Mary Mac Kinnon at 847-597-2886 or marymackinnon@ipc.org.
