Nov 08, 2006
High Tech Computer (HTC) denied a report in the Taiwanese media stating that US-based smartphone vendor Palm has rejected US$40 million worth of handsets supplied by HTC, according to a November 7 company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE). However, HTC confirmed that a small portion of connectors being used in its handsets have some defects and that HTC will replace those defective connectors in cooperation with the component supplier. The process of testing and replacement is likely to cost about NT$5 million (US$152,000), HTC said.
