LG Electronics begins mass production at Mexican PDP module plant
Oct 26, 2006
LG Electronics announced its plan to start mass production at its PDP module plant in Reynosa, Mexico, where construction began early this year. The Reynosa plant is located close to its Mexican digital TV plant area, and will be dedicated to finishing PDP modules by assembling panels rolled out in Gumi, Korea. LG Electronics aims to boost capacity at its Mexican and Polish plants to 100,000 units per month, and also increase capacity at the Gumi facility to 550,000 units monthly by transferring the processing technology from six-cutting (processing six units of plasma panels out of a single glass substrate) to eight-cutting technology.
