LG Electronics to launch LCD TV plant in Poland in September

LG Electronics yesterday announced that it has advanced the launch of its LCD TV plant in Wroclaw, Poland, by six months to the end of this month, in an effort to keep pace with the rapid growth in the European flat TV market.

The combined flat TV capacity from the Wroclaw plant dedicated to processing LCD TVs, the first and the second Mlawa plants for production of LCD and PDP TVs will increase from 5 million units this year to 11 million units by 2010. The company plans to invest $103 million in regular sequence to stretch its capacity at the Polish plant in Wroclaw from 2 million units this year to 5 million units by 2010.
