Compal expects record notebook shipments in September

Compal Electronics expects notebook shipments in September to set a new high of 1.34 million units, up from 1.31 million units in August - the maker's current monthly record, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN). Compal's third-quarter notebook shipments will reach 3.8-3.9 million units, the paper added. The paper attributed the shipment increases to new orders from Compal's clients and a boost from the upcoming launch of Microsoft Windows Vista.
