New diaphragm valve from Intertronics
Sep 15, 2006
Intertronics have solved problems of dispensing many materials with the VD510 diaphragm valve which is designed for precise flow control of low to medium viscosity materials (under 10,000 cps). The diaphragm valve design separates the wetted parts from the driving parts therefore the valve is ideal for dispensing cyanoacrylates, electrolytes, reagents, glues, paints, solvents, alcohol and other volatile substances that may otherwise cause damage such as erosion to most machinery. The VD510 is described as ideal for applications requiring both precision and cleanliness such as medical equipment assembly, electro-optics or other small component work, in batch or flow production environments. In addition the clean operating principle of the diaphragm valve design means the VD510 is also suitable for dispensing medical materials, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage fluids, cosmetcs, oils, inks etc. Using the stroke adjustment knob on the VD510, shot sizes can be fine tuned. The valve itself is small in size, weighing only 75 grams and having a height of 8cm, making it ideal for stand-alone bench dispensing use or machine integration. When air pressure is applied to the valve with a standard dispenser, such as the IJF DSPE501A from Intertronics, the valve will open and the material will be dispensed. After the dispense cycle has finished a spring assists the valve in returning to its closed position for immediate shut-off allowing little to no chance of material waste.
