Tatung and Compal to benefit from Hitachi's LCD-TV orders

The Taiwan-based Tatung and Compal Electronics are both expected to benefit from Japan-based Hitachi's LCD-TV orders, according to today's Economic Daily News (EDN). The Japan-based company recently said it plans to expand its OEM/ODM TV business and is looking for possible partners in the LCD-TV sector, added the paper. Tatung currently produces LCD TVs for Hitachi, while Compal manufactures PDP (plasma display panel) TVs and smaller-size LCD TVs for the Japan-based company, noted the paper.
