Australian SM GPC Electronics joins TFI's Quarterly Forum as corporate sponsor

Sep 14, 2006

CEO Christopher Janssen will address members on outsourcing trends in Asia-Pac at September event in Boston

Technology Forecasters Inc. (TFI), a leading consultancy in electronics manufacturing and supply chain, announces GPC Electronics has joined TFI's select list of Quarterly Forum Corporate Sponsors, which includes Agile Software, Avnet Electronics Marketing, Elcoteq, Kinaxis, and SAP.

"We are delighted to welcome GPC Electronics to our Quarterly Forum Corporate Sponsor community. GPC manufactures complex electronics products for US, European and Japanese multi-national corporations," noted Pamela Gordon, TFI President and CEO. "Their strength is the ability to completely manage the product supply so their customers don't need to be involved in the intensive day-to-day hand holding. I look forward to introducing Christopher to members at the Boston Forum event."

"We believe that the next wave of manufacturing will be outsourcing the management of processes from the OEM to the EMS provider, bringing new levels of competitiveness," explained Christopher Janssen, CEO of GPC Electronics. "While many companies are attracted to Asia for low labor cost, this is often far outweighed by higher internal management costs, higher risk and lower flexibility. GPC Electronics leverages the advantages of lower management and engineering costs in Australia/New Zealand to achieve lower total cost and improved competitiveness."

"The TFI Quarterly Forum will be an invaluable resource for forging and maintaining relationships and sharing best practices and knowledge," Janssen continued. "We also look forward to sharing the unique characteristics of Australia/New Zealand in executing next generation outsourcing relationships and to interacting with TFI's Quarterly Forum members, who are OEMs, our peers in the EMS industry, and suppliers."
