Quanta stake in E-Ten affiliate increases to nearly 50%

Quanta Computer on August 2 purchased an additional 9.24% stake in GPS device maker RoyalTek, an affiliate of E-Ten Information Systems, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN). Quanta's total shares in RoyalTek now is almost 50%, indicated the paper.

Quanta on July 18 announced through the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) that it would acquire 37.84% of RoyalTek's shares, whereas RoyalTek would hold a 0.44% stake in Quanta. Quanta has set August 2, 2006 as the date for the second stage shareholding exchange with RoyalTek, according to the filing.
