Foxconn International likely to assemble Motofone handsets for Motorola, paper says

Foxconn International Holdings (FIH), the Hong Kong-listed handset subsidiary of Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry), is expected to receive orders from Motorola to manufacture the vendor's ultra low-priced Motofone-series handsets, according to an August 14 Chinese-language Commercial Times report. Motorola originally planned to manufacture Motofone phones at its own plant in Tainjin, China and place orders at the Singapore-based EMS giant Flextronics International, the paper said. However, FIH has a good chance to be added to the supplier list as Motorola reportedly had raised Motofone's annual shipments target to 100 million units, up from the 40-50 million units that was earlier projected. source: DigiTimes
