ESC steps up cooperation with Haier for China government PC purchases

Taiwan-based motherboard maker Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) is gearing up collaboration with China-based white goods maker Haier to vie for contracts for supplying PCs to China government bodies, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN). ECS has also received, for the first time, high-end notebook orders from Haier, the paper added.

ECS announced on August 8 that it would invest a total of US$4.39 million in a joint venture with Haier.
