New functionality optimises OptiCon AdvancedLine application 1M/4M in production line
Jun 15, 2006
During the SMT/Hybrid/Packaging show in Nuremberg/Germany, GÖPEL electronic introduces an important innovation in its OptiCon AdvancedLine 1M/4M AOI system. The in-line system now features dual track handling, which enables the transportation of a new PCB into the test area of the OptiCon system during the inspection process of another PCB. The dual-track system effectively eliminates handling time in the AOI process and the OptiCon AdvancedLine 1M/4M throughput is increased accordingly. Furthermore, users will be able to sort PCBs according to their test results (PASS/FAIL). For instance, "PASS" or "FAIL" PCBs can be fed to the right and left, respectively, where they can be stored in cassette loading stations until the next production step. Control for this new sorting feature is embedded in the system software. The OptiCon system's core element is a modularly extendable camera head. This new camera concept allows the alternative selection between a one- and four- MegaPixel camera module. For an even higher test coverage, the user will be able to install additional camera options for THT components, colour inspection or 3D measurement as well as angled view inspection. The AOI system is designed with performance in mind offering higher test speed, reduced debug times, minimal false call rate and extremely high fault coverage. www.goepel.com
