Foxconn may establish production line in Argentina

Jun 28, 2006

Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) is evaluating the possibility of establishing a manufacturing site in Argentina in order to work more closely with its customers in Central and Lain America, according to the Chinese-language Apple Daily.

In addition, Foxconn's wholly-owned handset subsidiary Foxconn International Holdings (FIH) is considering setting up a R&D center in Japan in order to take advantage of the R&D capabilities there, indicated the paper. A previous article reported that FIH plans to acquire handset-design companies in South Korea, aiming at expanding its ODM handset business.
