Following Asustek, ECS, Gigabyte and MSI see margins decline in 1Q

Leading Taiwan motherboard makers Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) all experienced drops in their gross margin of up to 2.45 percentage points, on-year, in the first quarter of 2006, immediately following on Asustek Computer's disclosure that its unconsolidated margin for the first quarter had slumped 13.06 percentage points, compared to the same period a year earlier.
