CCL shipments declining in 2Q on weak PCB demand
May 15, 2006
Taiwan-based copper clad laminate (CCL) suppliers Nanya Plastics, Elite Material Company (EMC), and Taiwan Union Technology (TUC) all indicated that demand from printed circuit board (PCB) makers has been slow in the second quarter because of the weak PC, handset and TV markets. TUC said overall CCL shipments from the entire sector will drop 10-15% sequentially in the second quarter, but all three suppliers predict that demand will begin picking up slightly in June. source: DigiTimes
