Speedline reports first quarter results
May 19, 2006
Speedline Technologies has announced details of its financial results for fiscal 2006 first quarter, ending March 31, 2006. The Company reported an increase of 18% in revenue, and a 28% increase in bookings compared with the same quarter a year ago. "These results, along with a 77% increase in March backlog compared with March 2005, have us very excited for Speedline's 2006 prospects. The fact that our revenue increase was the result of strong performance across all of our products is equally encouraging" said Pierre de Villemejane, President/CEO of Speedline Technologies. In the printer category, Speedline experienced an increase in unit sales volume of 42% compared to the same quarter one year ago. This product category was fueled by the award-winning Accela, which continues to exceed all sales expectations. In the wave solder category, results were even more impressive, as units shipped jumped 53%, and revenue increased 101% compared to Q1 2005. Mr. de Villemejane attributed this growth in machine sales to several factors. "The migration to lead-free operation worldwide continues unabated. These conversions drive new purchases, just as increasingly complex process requirements are driving similar technology upgrades. Speedline has also been fortunate to have several standout products, most notably the MPM Accela printer system and Electrovert VectraElite which have been embraced by the worldwide market."
