Kemet adds China plant

Kemet Adds 2nd Production Plant, Plans on 3rd, in Suzhou, China Kemet Corp. said Tuesday it opened a second production plant in Suzhou, China, and plans to add a third within the next two years. The Simpsonville, S.C., company makes tantalum and multilayer ceramic capacitors, used in electronic devices to store, filter and regulate electrical energy. Kemet said its customer base in Asia is growing the fastest, accounting for 38 percent of its fiscal 2006 sales and increasing each year. It employs 940 people in the Suzhou area, which is situated in the south of the province of Jiangsu.
