Datacon announces growth in automotive electronics segment

Apr 24, 2003

Austria's Datacon Technology AG, has announced that it more than doubled its European revenue in the automotive electronics segment in the last business year and that this growth market has in-creased steadily by approximately 8% per year.Datacon believes that this solid growth will continue to improve. Miniaturization and the ex-treme safety required of embedded vehicle electronics place extraordinary demands on the manufacturing process and production equipment. Hybrid or MCM technology is typically used for these applications, so the production equipment must be flexible in addition to being extremely reliable. Most applications in automotive electronics are bases on MCM technology.Datacon reports that automotive electronics is the most important market segment for the company in Europe, and that it is constantly developing new features. For the development of innovative processes, Datacon offers its "Open Application Lab", in which applica-tion support and process development can be performed with Datacon equipment in the customer's manu-facturing environment without interrupting production, so that new ideas from the customer can quickly be transformed into economic successes.Source: PCBnewsline
