ON Semiconductor to offer shares

Chip maker ON Semiconductor Corp. said Thursday it plans to offer 10.5 million shares to help pay for its purchase of an Oregon wafer plant from LSI Logic Corp.
ON Semiconductor has 312 million shares outstanding. The company said it plans to grant the underwriter an option to buy up to an additional 1.1 million shares of stock to cover over-allotments.
