Compal to see gross margin decline in 1Q, say sources

Although shipments and revenues for Compal Electronics picked up in the first quarter, industry sources estimate that its gross margin is likely to fall in the first quarter due to the company's spin-off of its Personal Mobile Communications and Computing (PMCC) division to its handset subsidiary Compal Communications, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times. Compal Electronics will hold an investor conference on April 26 to discuss its first quarter performance, noted the paper.
