Kester's Mona Chay to present at DISKON Asia Pacific 2006
Mar 08, 2006
Kester has announced that Mona Chay, market development manager with Kester Asia Pacific, will present during DISKCON Asia Pacific 2006, scheduled to take place March 8 to 9, 2006, at the Orchid Country Club in Singapore. Mona will present within the "New technology and is it manufacturable?" session that will be moderated by Gary Davis, executive director of IDEMA Asia Pacific. Her topic, iNEMI Collaboration: Pb-Free and RoHS Transition, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on March 9. European regulations for Restrictions on the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) will take effect this year. For most electronics manufacturers, six substances will be essentially eliminated from products sold in Europe, with similar regulations coming on quickly in other regions. Some manufacturers have received an exemption for certain uses of lead; therefore, they may initially only need to address five of the banned substances. This presentation will review iNEMI collaborative work that has helped the industry prepare for this major shift across the electronics manufacturing supply chain. Mona Chay is the market development manager with Kester Asia Pacific based in Singapore. She has more than 13 years experience in the soldering industry and has worked on numerous PCBA reliability issues as well as successfully supporting many major clients such as Seagate, Intel and other Fortune 100 companies. Kester's Web site may be found at www.kester.com.
