Foxconn to layoff Finnish force while investing in India, say sources

Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) will be adjusting its global manufacturing base this year as it prepares to lay off part of its workforce in Finland while it gears up to set up production facilities in India, according to various sources.
A March 7 Yahoo! Asia News report cited Reuters as saying that Hong Kong-listed Foxconn International Holdings (FIH), a subsidiary of Foxconn, will end mass production in Finland by the end of June, laying off about 400 employees as it shifts output to Asia. Currently, FIH employs more than a total of 500 people in southern Finland.
