LCD TV vendors to order 4.7 million panels from Taiwan makers this year

Leading global LCD TV vendors such as Sharp, Sony and Royal Philips Electronics are expected to procure over 4.7 million LCD TV panels from Taiwan-based panel makers this year, according to today's Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN), citing David Hsieh, president of DisplaySearch Taiwan. AU Optronics (AUO), Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) and Quanta Display (QDI) are expected to benefit most from the procurement, according to Hsieh as cited by the paper.
