AVX increases product offering available through distributors

AVX Corporation is increasing the breadth of the product portfolio available through AVX Authorized Broadline Global Distributors to include new RF capacitors and tantalum polymer capacitors as well as PCIExpress and battery connectors.

This decision will allow AVX to broaden its market development for the complete breadth of the company's products and more strategically focus on new products which support developing applications.
 
"Being able to offer breadth of product and available inventory to designers while providing logistics and technical support for production volumes is critical in enabling customers to hit their market windows," said Pete Venuto, AVX Corporate Vice President of Sales.  "AVX has the best Distribution Line Card in the industry and this channel is a crucial part of the market. AVX intends to maximize our position by ensuring the channel supports the full breadth of AVX product."

The additional product offering is part of a broader strategy to maximize AVX's core customer base by more efficiently focusing its distribution offerings, which included paring down its network in Europe by 12 percent and also reducing the number of distributors in the United States.
