SMTA International 2005 - best papers announced

As speakers at SMTA International, individuals make contributions to the industry by sharing their research and findings. To reward exceptional achievement, $1,000 awards and plaques are given for the Best of Conference Paper, Best of Proceedings Paper, and the Best International Paper. The winners from SMTA International 2005 are Shatil Haque of Lumileds Lighting (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. for Best of Conference for his work entitled "Packaging of High-Power LEDs Using Au Stud Bump Interconnects"; Julia Y. Zhao of Analog Devices for Best of Proceedings for her paper "A Study of the Failure Mechanisms in Lead-free and Eutectic Tin-lead Solder Bumps for Flip Chip Assembly"; and Lars Boettcher of Fraunhofer IZM Berlin for Best International Paper for his paper entitled "Integration of Active and Passive Components Using Chip in Polymer Technology". The authors will formally be presented their awards at the SMTAI Opening Ceremony during SMTA International 2006.
