USI obtained TiVo OEM order

When digital home and consumer electronics had been the major trend for most of high-tech manufacturers, Universal Scientific Industrial Co., Ltd. (USI) which made computer motherboard announced that USI obtained TiVo OEM order of TiVo which was the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) product in the United States. The OEM opportunity showed that USI had strong attempt to enter Digi-Home category in the near future. With over thirty percent market share of the United States, TiVo launched to step into Taiwan market as well. The exclusive partner of TiVo in Great China and Singapore was TGC that chose USI as the only OEM partner. TGC said that TiVo was still a product of new concept; therefore, they would remain the sales goal undisclosed. The Vice President of USI indicated that USI had been developing digital multimedia player, home networking storage, and home networking related products for OEM customers that would be an advantage of USI in Digi-Home category. He also predicted that the success of TiVo would be elevated by USI's advantage of the areas of computing, communication, and storage and would also expand the Asian market share. The cooperation between USI and TiVo would help USI have more business opportunities with other international brands in the future even though the production quantity was limited based on the TGC's initial DVR order.
