UK Unix User Group announces award

The UK UNIX User Group has announced details of its Open Source Award for 2003. The annual prize, open to current students in UK Education, will be awarded for a significant contribution to the free and open source community. The judging panel, made up from representatives from UKUUG, UK computer science departments and the open source community, will consider articles or papers, software products, or other contributions to open source, for which the prize money is £500. In addition to this prize, O'Reilly UK Ltd. is also providing a pass to the 2003 Open Source Convention together with a further £500 to cover travel and accommodation costs. The winner will be asked to give a talk at the UKUUG's annual Linux conference being held in Edinburgh in 2003 Source: PCBnewsline
