Cookson introduces selective wave system
Apr 03, 2003
Cookson Electronics Equipment has introduced the new Electrovert Selectra, a selective wave system for soldering individual through-hole terminations on PCBs. Features include a compact footprint, fast cycle time, and flexible, high-speed selective soldering in both prototype and production applications. The Selectra’s conveyor is mounted directly to a servo-controlled gantry system, which positions boards in all three dimensions for selective fluxing and wave soldering without pickup delay. The system is said to require no dedicated tooling or fixturing, and defects are further minimized by an air knife mounted directly to the selective wave solder nozzle. The system measures a compact 1.37m wide by 1.42m deep and will be available for shipment in Q2 2003.Source: PCBnewsline
