Wistron NB shipment will be over 10 million units next year

Pushing itself to include in the top 5 notebook PC makers, Wistron planed to expand the production capability of Kuen San factory in China, possibly become first-tier OEM. With the orders from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Acer, Wistron was expected that the shipment of NB would be over 10 million units next year. The estimated orders from Dell, Lenovo, and Acer will be around 2-2.5 million units individually. Accumulating with the orders from Fujitsu and Siemens, the annual production volume might be reached over 10 million units next year. The maximum production capability of Kuen San factory in China is about 600,000 NBs per month. Besides, the Microsoft Xbox 360 will be estimated to sell 7 million units in which Wistron will contribute 60% production. As Xbox 360 is going to be launched and be major product in the market, the Xbox 360 shipment of Wistron is also increasing. It is estimated that the shipment might be over 4 million units from Wistron. The shipment is supposed to be delivered since September; however, the upstream components were out of stock, the shipment of September would fall behind the schedule. The future shipment of Wistron will be still optimistic. With the driving of NB and Console game, the overall revenue of Wistron will be growing 35% at NT$142.189 billion next year with gross rate will be sustained the same figure 5.6%.
