Global Sources to open new Chinese headquarters in Shenzhen

Global Sources Ltd. will open its new China headquarters in the Shenzhen International Chamber of Commerce Tower in Futian, Shenzhen, China on Nov. 5, 2005. Global Sources‚ Board of Directors as well as local dignitaries and government officials will attend the opening ceremony. With four floors and over 9,000 square meters of customized space, the new state-of-the-art office will be the backbone of Global Sources‚ China operation, supporting more than 1,300 team members in 44 China locations. Merle A. Hinrichs, chairman and chief executive officer of Global Sources said, "The reasons for choosing Shenzhen as our new China headquarters are compelling. The city is in the heart of China's busiest trade center, making it the ideal location for export-focused enterprises." For the past 12 years Shenzhen has had the highest volume of foreign trade of any city in China. According to local customs statistics in 2004, Shenzhen's foreign trade topped US$147.31 billion - up 25 percent on a year-on-year basis. Hinrichs added, "Our new offices underscore our continued commitment to bringing China products to global markets. We will bring even more of the best and brightest here to help us promote China‚s suppliers to the world."
