LaBarge Lands Contract From Sensis to Produce Airport Surface-Vehicle Locators

LaBarge, Inc. announced it has been awarded a contract from Sensis Corp. to produce the company's VeeLo® airport surface vehicle locator. LaBarge will perform turnkey manufacturing services, including integrating and testing the entire VeeLo unit.

Located on the roof of airport vehicles, VeeLo emits a signal that works in conjunction with air traffic control tracking systems to give air traffic controllers a coordinated view of aircraft and vehicle operations. VeeLo provides the safety benefit of monitoring vehicle position and identity in airport movement and apron areas, plus it contributes to airport efficiency through asset tracking and dispatch management. VeeLo is currently operational in airports throughout Europe.

Production for this initial contract, which is estimated at up to $2 million, will continue for approximately four years at LaBarge's Pittsburgh facility.
