MSI expects notebook contribution to grow in 2006

First-tier motherboard maker Micro-Star International (MSI) anticipates the revenue contribution from its notebook division will reach 10% in 2006, up 5-percentage points on year, according to company vice president Henry Lu. Motherboard sales continue to constitute the largest proportion of MSI's revenues at 70%. The company projects it will generate a total of NT$70 billion in revenues in 2005, up 6.5% on year. In related news, MSI slashed the price on a limited number of its Megabook M630 notebooks in Taiwan yesterday, to stimulate back-to-school demand.
