Cypress Semiconducter plans $10 mln India campus

Cypress Semiconducter Corp.said it planned to set up a new $10 million campus in India to design new products and expected to triple its staff strength in the country for this purpose . Cypress, a maker of chips used in computers and communications equipment, has been in India for 10 years. It expects to raise its employee headcount in India to 600 by the end of 2007 from 200 currently. The company opened its first India design centre in Bangalore in 1995 and added a second centre in Hyderabad in 2003.
