ESSEMTEC to display pick-and-place system at Assembly Technology Expo
Sep 20, 2005
ESSEMTEC has announced that it will highlight FLX2010, a flexible pick-and-place system for high-mix production, in booth 5800 at the upcoming Assembly Technology Expo scheduled to take place September 27-29, 2005, at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. FLX2010 pick-and-place series fulfils the requirements of a high-mix production. It offers an extraordinarily large application range and allows production changes without downtime. The modular system features a large feeder capacity - up to 310 feeders, graphical control software, inventory control and traceability, and changeover without downtime. EASYPLACER is the powerful man-machine interface of the FLX2010. For easy operation, all information is displayed graphically. Complex coordinate lists are quickly converted into a clear virtual view of the PCB, which operators can understand and control. The EASYPLACER software is easy to learn and designed to fulfill both operator and programmer expectations. In a high-mix production, the changeover is the most important cost factor. With the FLX concept, changeover cost and time can be minimized. Off-line production preparation and programming, in combination with intelligent feeders and a large feeder capacity, allow a product changeover with no downtime. The system is equipped with a combination of different alignment systems - laser and vision. Together, they provide advantages for both chip shooting and ultra-fine-pitch placement. Vision systems can be upgraded at the customer site if the production requirements change. The FLX L model features a large board size 600 x 700mm (23.6 x 27.5") and up to 310 feeders, but expandable to 470.
