New inline printer for fine pitch from Essemtec

Sep 26, 2005

The SP200-AVC from ESSEMTEC is a new stencil printer for fully automatic SMT assembly lines. The unique trans-stencil vision system, the integrated stencil cleaner and the continuous squeegee pressure regulation are said to provide the highest precision and reliability. The printer is designed for quick setup and changeover.

The fast 2-point-vision system provides a precise alignment of every PCB. The two cameras look straight through the stencil onto the PCB. Any of the pads can be used for alignment. The advantages: First, printing is executed just after alignment without any further movement and second, there is no need for additional alignment marks in the stencil. If the stencil's opening is smaller than the pad, then it is aligned exactly in the centre of the pad.

The programmable print head provides absolute reproducible results all over the print range. The squeegee pressure is measured and regulated continuously during printing. Therefore, constant conditions are achieved especially in the peripheral zone of the substrate. This enables the designer to use even the rim of a PCB for component placement.

The control software is based on the Windows operating system. It is easy to learn and simple to operate with the built-in mouse and keyboard. All printing parameters are programmable and the storage capacity for printing programs is unlimited.

The inline conveyor system is programmable and automatically aligned to the correct width. Stencils are tensioned in a universal frame and can be exchanged quickly.
