PXI Systems Alliance releases new PXI specifications

Apr 01, 2003

Leading European producer of microprocessor development systems Lauterbach, has announced that it now supports the newly announced HCS08 microprocessor family from Motorola with the TRACE32-PowerTools. The difference between the new HCS08 Family and the existing HC08 Processor is the enhanced CPU Core and provision of a BDM interface for the debugger .Using the BDM interface Lauterbach’s TRACE32-PowerDebug Module provides fast access to all of the processor’s internal modules such as the OnChip Hardware Breakpoints, Peripherals, Registers, EEPROM- and FLASH-Memory. The debugger can access the whole memory map (including registers of internal peripherals) whilst the code is being executed in real-time. It is also possible to display the contents of the chip’s internal TRACE-Area. The debugger supports all members of the HCS08 family working with all the voltage levels for the various MCUs. The tools provide all the other functions needed by a developer such as an unlimited number of software breakpoints, the programming of the internal EEPROM- and FLASH-Memory, a powerful script language and the support of all the main compilers for C and C++. The TRACE32-PowerTools can be connected to the host computer via parallel port, USB or 10/100 MB Ethernet.Source: PCBnewsline
