Juki and Cogiscan announce collaboration

Sep 27, 2005

Juki Automation Systems and Cogiscan are pleased to announce the beginning of a long-term strategic collaboration.

The first Juki product resulting from this collaboration is called IFS-X (Intelligent Feeder System - next generation).  It will be displayed at ATE in Chicago from September 26th-29th. IFS-X uses Cogiscan's unique RFID Smart Feeder technology to provide a robust and cost-effective solution for feeder set-up validation.

The IFS-X system eliminates human errors while reducing machine set-up and changeover time. It provides real time inventory of all components, feeders and trolleys; on and off the placement machine. IFS-X can also be used to gather detailed component traceability reports.

IFS-X can easily be retrofitted to existing machines, trolleys and feeders in the field. Therefore, unlike competitive systems, Juki's customers can benefit from the latest technology without having to replace their existing equipment. This long-term investment protection is a great example of how and why Juki offers the "Lowest Cost of Ownership in the industry".

Bob Black, the President of Juki Automation Systems Americas & Europe says: "After experiencing exceptional customer reactions in Europe, it was obvious that we needed to make the IFS-X option available in the Americas. We look forward to expanding our market share by offering the smartest feeding system in the industry. Cogiscan technologies enable Juki to offer a better solution for our customers at a lower price".

Francois Monette, Vice-President Sales and Marketing for Cogiscan says: "We are extremely pleased to be expanding our partnership with Juki Automation Systems. This represents a significant milestone in our strategy of becoming the global standard for RFID based material control in our industry".
