Sep 29, 2005

2005 International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair unveils in Dongguan in November

The 2005 International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair, jointly organized by Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA) and IPC, will be held on 30 November - 2 December, 2005 at Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Centre, Dongguan, China.

By mid May, the Fair has received heartening supports and active participations from over 100 worldwide exhibitors and more than 400 booths were sold to major players in the industry which includes WKK, Mania, World Wide P.C.B, Camtek, ETI, Viasystems, KSL, Atotech Asia, Protek, Process Automation, Rohm and Haas, Schmid Asia, American Tec, Oia, etc.  With enlarged exhibiting scale, the fair is expected to attract over 24,000 visitors and exhibitors this year.

Over the past years, the annual International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair has enjoyed success and is well perceived in the South China region. Last year's fair drew more than 20,000 visitors and 300 exhibitors from all over the world, with more than 800 exhibiting booths and overall 20% increments as compared with 2003.

In the past two years, there has been a vigorous growth in the global electronics market, within which China's market shares is a notable portion. As suggested by a survey from Electronic Trend Publications (ETP), the growth in China electronic products manufacturing industry is expected to expand at a compound rate of 16.9% annually from 2002 to 2007; where the total cost of production for electronic products of China is expected to proliferate towards USD270 billion by 2008. World Trade Organization has recently announced that China has become the third large exporting country. In view of the growing demands for the Chinese electronic products, China's export sales have a 35% increase while China's gross national production volume in PCB industry remains top three globally. With around 59,000 Hong Kong enterprises setting up their production line in China, taking account of around 40% of the total production, the electronics assembly and test industry continues to grow and becomes a significant part of the electronics-manufacturing sector in China.

'The total production value of electronic products in China is expected to exceed USD184 billion. After 20 years of development, the South China and Pearl River Delta regions have already become a production base mainly driven by the capital enterprises in Hong Kong, endowing with great potential to further expand,' said Mr. Kong Hoi Wing, Chairman of HKPCA. This year, the 3-day International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair, with the theme of 'Potential x Expansion', will provide the PCB and Electronic Assembly industries with business opportunities in a large-scale exposition.
