Universal Instruments and Selettra confirm plans to extend partnership
Aug 05, 2005
Universal Instruments and Selettra have extended the distribution partnership that has successfully united profound sales and service expertise with a dynamic product range for the Italian electronics market. Effective from July 1st, the terms of the extended partnership mean that Universal will continue to provide service and support for the expanding customer base out of its Arese offices, while Selettra will utilise its sales expertise to promote the widened product range. The contract will continue to build on the success of the mid-range AdVantis platform, now renowned for pioneering the inclusion of Universal's product reliability and technical expertise within a platform directly targeted at entry-level and mid-range markets. However, recent developments mean that Selettra will now be able to present their Italian customers with other Universal products such as the Genesis platform. Genesis allows for the development of highly flexible and modular SMT lines, delivering high utilisation for top and bottom side applications and high speed placement of large components. Other Universal platforms to feature in the new Selettra offering will include radial and axial Generation 8 insertion machines for modern through-hole assembly and the Quadris high volume placement solution, specifically developed to meet the requirements of the high-speed, high-volume chip placement market. In addition, the HSP solution reliably facilitates the expert assembly of high volumes of standard products, in addition to larger panels. As a consequence, the extended Selettra-Universal contract looks set to build on the existing success of this highly effective relationship for the exclusive benefit of the Italian electronics market.
