Aug 11, 2005
Beginning in 1997 the SMTA first offered Vendor Shows at several chapter locations and has since continued to hold new and annual events. Vendor Shows are one-day networking events designed to showcase industry suppliers' products. The Capital SMTA Vendor Show will be held Wednesday, September 7, at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, MD. During the show three presentations will also be featured on Lead-free Component and Assembly Qualification Process Guideline Review - How to Stimulate a RoHS Engineering Group by Bob Farrell, Benchmark Electronics, and George Wilkish, Tyco Electronics; The Reality of Lead-free Reliability by Craig Hillman, DfR Solutions; and Recent Investigations of Tin Whiskering on Lead-free Finishes by Maureen Williams, NIST. The Dallas SMTA Vendor Show will be held Tuesday, October 11, at the Richardson Civic Center in Richardson, TX. In addition to the vendor show, technical sessions will be given relating to surface mount technology and future trends in electronic assembly, and Dr. Denis Barbini, Vitronics-Soltec, will present the keynote address "Trends in the 2005 Electronics Industry". The Wisconsin SMTA Vendor Show will be held Tuesday, October 18, at the Milwaukee Marriott in Waukesha, WI. In addition to the exhibits, technical presentation topics will include Lead-free/RoHS by Dr. Dennis Barbini, Vitronics-Soltec; Emerging Trends by Ken Gilleo, ET- Trends LLC; and NEMI Roadmap by Kirk VanDreel, Plexus Electronic Assembly.
