Axiom contract win boosts manufacturing jobs in Wales

A South Wales company has created highly skilled jobs and firmly established itself in the box build assembly market after winning a contract with a major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) serving customers across the world. Newbridge based CEM, Axiom Manufacturing Services, has secured a long-term multi-million pound contract to supply Bristol-based Radiodetection Ltd. Along with a number of recent contract wins this continues to underpin Axiom's success in the long term. Radiodetection, specialise in the design and development of high-end quality products for the location and maintenance of underground pipes and cables. The close relationship with Radiodetection began in 2002 when Axiom first provided a manufacturing service for printed circuit board assemblies. Commercial Director for Axiom, David Davies, said: "Winning this contract has helped to create highly skilled new jobs and secure the business for the near future. It is the most comprehensive manufacturing contract that this company has ever signed and allows us to plan our new technology and put in place long-term training programmes for our staff. Roger Holmes, Managing Director of Radiodetection, said: "The relationship between Axiom and RD has been highly successful for both companies."
