Ultrasonic Systems introduces new coating system
Aug 23, 2005
Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. introduces the Prism Ultra-Coat 400S and 450S, a new programmable coating system designed to precisely apply fluxes, photo-resists and conductive inks. The patented Ultra-Spray head with Integrated Liquid Delivery System (ILDS) uses ultrasonic energy to produce a controlled atomized coating. The coating is applied by the spray forming tip with an electronically controlled metering valve to provide precise control over the liquid flow rate. The ultrasonic coating is shaped to produce two distinct patterns; narrow mode and wide mode. USI's Ultra-Spray technology is said to be revolutionizing the semiconductor market by providing a superior alternative to conventional air-atomizing spray coating nozzles, jetting and dispensing technology. The Ultra-Spray Head is capable of applying coatings from sub micron to as thick as several mils. The systems are available in batch mode or conveyorized. The Prism Ultra-Coat utilizes precision ball screws, closed-loop servo drives and Windows XP operating system combined with USI's proprietary ultrasonic technology to produce an innovative, flexible coating system.
